Pesugiren - Yuvan Shankar Raja

Pesugiren from Sathum Podathey is one of the best songs of the year 2007. The mild rhythm, minimal instruments usage, excellent orchestration are the greatest plus points of this song. The tune is simple yet vert beautiful. Neha Bashin's voice is seductive. This one song is enough to prove Yuvan's orchestration ability.

The song forgoes a prelude but has wonderful interludes and a postlude. There are only four major instruments I can hear in this song. They are the percussion, saxophone, guitar and a very very mild symphony that comes intermittently in the background.

Percussion that starts exactly from the 22nd (or 23rd, when "Adangamale" line comes) second of the song sets the pace of the song. The flow that starts here remains the same till the end of the song.

The first interlude is formed by the Saxophone piece while the second interlude has the Saxophone piece followed by a beautiful Guitar. Listen to this guitar. Its just amazing!! The song has a beautiful postlude, Saxophone again!

Listen to 1st Interlude,

Listen to 2nd Interlude,

When does the Symphony come then? Close your eyes and observe the following pieces carefully. You will hear a mild symphony orchestraion in the background.

* During the first interlude,
* When she sings, "Valaivillamal malai kidayadhu" in the first charanam and during the same part in the second charanam
* Then along with the guitar in the second interlude.

Did you hear it?

It's been months since I heard this type of enthralling melody from Yuvan. I hope Yuvan comes up with more such melodies in future.

To download these interludes,
Regards,
Vinith

oh very sorry Vinith dont bash me.When Listening to the interlude i cant stop Kenny.G sax coming b4 me.so i said its a strong inspiration. But i cant say the exact clip of which kenny.G SAx does yuvan lifted..

Any Way Listen to Kenny.G's breathless or nyother sax of him u can find the similarity.

Actually other than Breathless am not much interested in Kenny.G's Works.am a great lover of yanni's Instrumentals. So i thot kenny.g also wud bring some nice music but eventually he dint much impress me as Yanni.

since u r much hunger of exposing plagiarisms i can say which i knew a thing.

Listen to Mozart's O Fortuna which rahman ditto'ed in Kathal Desam Villain Intro's BGM,Sivaji Climax BGM.

GVP has used the same in Kuselan BGM.

Yuvan has used it in 7G rainbow Colony BGM.
